Datura's third album but without the book. A fantastic collection of the most unforgettable songs and tunes from the Dark Ages interpreted by the four multi intrumental musicians of the Datura formation. This time they take you even to Norway, Bohemia, Italy and England. Mighty Medieval Music is here to stay!
Praesens et Praeteritum is the state of the art medieval music for festivals and weddings. Or in the car or in bath. Songs about natural beauty, lost loves, medieval trolls, the remarkable deeds of the Virgen Mary and the drinking of too much wine. There will be birds (a lot), ballads and playfull happy dance music .
A mixture of well known medieval hits like Ai Vist Lo Lop and Tourdion, the visionary Ecco la primavera and more hidden jewels you probably never heared of before, like the wild O quantum solicitor and Tir'allá que non quiero. Harp and vedel ready for the romantic Bryd one brere and the sad love story of Ay linda amiga. The music comes from all over Europe: from England, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic and Norway and the cd contains also two songs in Dutch.
The album counts 14 songs and tunes and 1 special sing-along-track. It is recorded and mixed by the legendary Fieke van den Hurk in her Dearworld Studio.
